A potentially fatal fault in some models could cause gas poisoning, fires, explosions and death.<\/p>\n<p>Act now and act swiftly to protect yourself and your household.<\/p>\n<h2>What\u2019s the issue?<\/h2>\n<p>Some gas hobs have a faulty elbow joint that may fracture, causing gas to leak. This issue affects the following brands (specific models only):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ccpc.ie\/consumers\/product_recalls\/product-safety-information-notice-on-belling-gas-hobs-gas-supply-elbow-joint\/\">Belling<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ccpc.ie\/consumers\/product_recalls\/product-safety-information-notice-on-electriq-gas-hobs-gas-supply-elbow-joint-2\/\">ElectriQ<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ccpc.ie\/consumers\/product_recalls\/product-safety-information-notice-on-bq-ireland-limited-cooke-lewis-branded-gas-hobs\/\">Cooke and Lewis<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ccpc.ie\/consumers\/product_recalls\/product-safety-information-notice-on-caple-gas-hobs-gas-supply-elbow-joint\/\">Caple<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ccpc.ie\/consumers\/product_recalls\/product-safety-information-notice-on-russell-hobbs-gas-hobs-sold-on-amazon\/\">Russell Hobbs<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ccpc.ie\/consumers\/product_recalls\/product-safety-information-notice-on-a-comfee-gas-hob-sold-on-amazon\/\">Comfee<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you own or rent a property with a gas hob, check it now.<\/p>\n<h2>How to check:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Look for your gas hob\u2019s brand name<\/li>\n<li>If you have one of the above brands, click that specific link for more information, including the affected model numbers and manufacturer contact details or,<\/li>\n<li>Simply ring the manufacturer and let them know you may have one of the faulty gas hobs<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>If your hob is affected:<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Stop using it immediately \u2013 it is unsafe.<\/li>\n<li>Contact the manufacturer for a free inspection and repair by a registered gas installer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>If you\u2019re renting:<\/h2>\n<p>Ask your landlord or letting agent to confirm if the hob is affected and arrange for inspection or repair. If you can\u2019t get a response from them, you may need to take action yourself.
