{"id":26,"date":"2017-01-06T16:39:23","date_gmt":"2017-01-06T16:39:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ccpc.ie\/consumers\/?page_id=26"},"modified":"2024-05-15T10:02:16","modified_gmt":"2024-05-15T09:02:16","slug":"accessibility","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ccpc.inventise.ie\/consumers\/accessibility\/","title":{"rendered":"Accessibility"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishstatutebook.ie\/eli\/2020\/si\/358\/made\/en\/print\">European Union (Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies) Regulations 2020<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This accessibility statement applies to <a href=\"https:\/\/ccpc.inventise.ie\/\">https:\/\/ccpc.inventise.ie\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Compliance status<\/h2>\n<p>This website is partially compliant with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.w3.org\/TR\/WCAG21\/\">Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 level AA<\/a>, due to the issues and exemptions listed below.<\/p>\n<h3>Non-accessible content<\/h3>\n<p>Parts of the ccpc.ie website are not fully accessible, for example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>HTML structure:<\/strong> Some pages do not use heading tags in the correct order, or are missing an H1 tag.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Keyboard operable:<\/strong> There are areas of the site that cannot be operated using a keyboard.<\/li>\n<li><strong>PDF content<\/strong>: Sometimes information is stored in PDF files which are not fully accessible. For example, some documents do not use headings in a meaningful way or contain readable text elements.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Colour:<\/strong> A small number of visual elements on the site do not have a clear contrast between the text and the background and as a result may be hard to read.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Forms:<\/strong> Not all form elements have meaningful labels which can be read using assistive devices such as screen-reading software.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Assistive Technologies:<\/strong> Some users of assistive technology will hear repeated menu items.<strong>\u00a0 <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Vimeo:<\/strong> Vimeo video active components may not be fully compliant. Since these are third-party elements originating from Vimeo, we have no ability to rectify them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This list is not exhaustive. We welcome feedback on any areas of the site which could be improved. We welcome feedback from our users on other areas for improvement.<\/p>\n<p>Our team are supported by evaluation from a third-party expert.
