The scheme protects and compensates investors if:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>an investment firm authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland is put into liquidation by the<\/li>\n<li>The Central Bank of Ireland determines that the investment firm is unable to meet investor claims<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"toptip\">\n<h3>Did you know?<\/h3>\n<p>The ICS doesn\u2019t pay compensation if:<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nYou incur losses due to receiving bad investment advice<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nYour investment is poorly managed or<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nYour investment performs poorly due to market or other economic conditions. If you experienced any of the above you should consider making a complaint to the investment firm.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h5>How much am I covered for?<\/h5>\n<p>The maximum amount of compensation you can claim under the ICS is 90% of your net loss, up to a maximum of \u20ac20,000.<\/p>\n<h5>What investments are covered?<\/h5>\n<p>Investments covered under the ICS include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>public and private company shares<\/li>\n<li>units in collective investment funds<\/li>\n<li>life insurance policies (including unit-linked funds)<\/li>\n<li>non-life insurance policies<\/li>\n<li>tracker bonds<\/li>\n<li>futures and options<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5>What if my investment is not covered?<\/h5>\n<p>If your investment is not covered under the ICS, your investment may be covered under the <a href=\"https:\/\/ccpc.inventise.ie\/consumers\/money\/saving\/deposit-guarantee-scheme\/\">Deposit Guarantee Scheme (DGS)<\/a>.
