{"id":34904,"date":"2020-03-23T15:13:03","date_gmt":"2020-03-23T15:13:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ccpc.ie\/business\/?p=34904"},"modified":"2020-03-23T16:16:49","modified_gmt":"2020-03-23T16:16:49","slug":"consumer-warning-about-www-whatadeal-ie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ccpc.inventise.ie\/business\/consumer-warning-about-www-whatadeal-ie\/","title":{"rendered":"Consumer warning about whatadeal.ie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has today issued a warning to consumers in relation to a website that is selling to consumers in Ireland called whatadeal.ie.<\/p>\n<p>The CCPC has concerns around the information being provided to customers on the website, which sells hand sanitiser products. The CCPC is closely monitoring the activities of the website and we encourage any consumer that encounters misleading practices or experiences difficulties with whatadeal.ie or any other trader to contact us by visiting ccpc.ie so that we can advise them of their rights.<\/p>\n<p>While the vast majority of businesses act in good faith, in the current circumstances the CCPC has become concerned that a small minority of traders may engage in commercial practices which are damaging to consumers, particularly vulnerable consumers.<\/p>\n<p>The CCPC is actively monitoring websites to check compliance with consumer protection law, including commercial practices which are misleading, or businesses who are failing to provide consumers with their rights under the Consumer Rights Directive. Where we identify issues, we will take appropriate action to protect consumers.
