{"id":15662,"date":"2018-05-02T15:20:29","date_gmt":"2018-05-02T14:20:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ccpc.ie\/business\/?p=15662"},"modified":"2018-05-03T09:13:18","modified_gmt":"2018-05-03T08:13:18","slug":"ccpc-obtains-commitments-bwg-secure-approval-proposed-acquisition-4-aces-wholesale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ccpc.inventise.ie\/business\/ccpc-obtains-commitments-bwg-secure-approval-proposed-acquisition-4-aces-wholesale\/","title":{"rendered":"CCPC obtains commitments from BWG to secure approval for proposed acquisition of 4 Aces Wholesale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following an extensive investigation, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has today cleared the proposed acquisition of 4 Aces Wholesale Limited (\u201c4 Aces\u201d) by BWG Foods Unlimited Company (\u201cBWG\u201d), subject to a number of binding commitments.<\/p>\n<p>Following notification on 31 January 2018, the CCPC undertook an in-depth investigation to establish whether the proposed transaction would result in a substantial lessening of competition in any market for goods or services in the State. In the course of the investigation, the CCPC identified a potential competition concern in relation to access to competitively sensitive information, arising from 4 Ace\u2019s relationship with Stonehouse Marketing Limited and Gala Retail Services Limited. To address these concerns, BWG agreed to submit commitments to the CCPC, which included;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A divestment commitment<\/li>\n<li>A firewall commitment<\/li>\n<li>A confidentiality commitment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The divestment commitment will ensure that BWG divests itself fully of 4 Aces\u2019 shareholding in Stonehouse.
